BWS Consulting has, for many years, done extensive research on the design and the construction of push-pull power amplifiers.  We have now applied our knowledge to the design of a single-ended amplifier product.

Our design goal has been to produce an amplifier with very low harmonic distortion and with a low noise floor. Our belief is that this required adopting a design, with relatively low power output, less than 20 watts.  Lower power amplifiers, tend to have quieter power supplies, which introduce less noise into the loudspeaker.  They also utilize smaller output transformers, which due to smaller wire size and smaller gap size, have a more linear transfer function.  Our final product is a design, which utilizes two tubes and has a power output of approximately 8 watts. 

 The BWS SE-6384 amplifier is designed for today's dynamic digital source components. Audiophile qualities such as intertransient silence, transparency, tonal accuracy, pitch delineation, control, dynamics and effortlessness, have been design goals in the development of this product.

     The BWS SE-6384 design is as follows:  The front end incorporates a selected Telefunken 12AX7, which is followed by a Bendix 6384 power output tube.  The amplifier is built on a high quality aluminum and copper chassis, with hand selected military grade parts, arranged and wired in a point to point layout.  The power transformer is a, 24 hour duty, mil/industrial EI core unit, which feeds a high speed solid state rectifier section, a mil grade filter choke and high speed capacitor section.  The output transformer is a Magnequest, DS-025, with M4 laminates.   The RCA input and the output speaker connectors are cryogenically treated, Sound Connections, high purity copper direct gold plated. 

The amplifiers are sold in matched pairs for $5995.00. They include a two year failure warranty on the vacuum tubes and a five year parts and labor warranty on the other amplifier components.  The amplifiers are supplied with standard BWS line cords, up-graded line cords, are $450.00 additional.
